BT Artbox
Look out for unusual and quirky telephone boxes popping up around London in June, adding a splash of colour to our city's streets. BT Artbox is a great new art project celebrating 25 years of Childline.
A number of leading artists and designers from around the world have been invited to give a new lease of life to the much loved icon of British design, the telephone box. These include Turner Prize winner Keith Tyson, fashion designers Giles Deacon, Julian Macdonald and Zandra Rhodes, and other names such as Ted Baker & Swarovski.
Each artist has received a full size, fibreglass replica of London's K6 telephone kiosk designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, which was introduced in 1936 to commemorate King George V's Silver Jubilee. The traditional red boxes will be creatively transformed and given a spectacular make-over before being placed in high profile locations around the city as part of this outdoor exhibition.
After the display comes to an end, the designer phone boxes will be auctioned off at a VIP gala at the National Portrait Gallery with proceeds going to Childline. Visit

for more information and to view all of the artists and designers involved in the project.
