Christmas Market at the Southbank Centre
Approx. 14 minutes from Russell Square Underground Station. Take the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus underground station. Change here for the Bakerloo line to Waterloo underground station.
Experience a taste of what a traditional Cologne Christmas Market has to offer at the Southbank Centre this winter for a refreshing alternative to the usual shopping experience.
From the 16th November up until Christmas Eve, authentically decorated wooden chalets will line Queen's Walk along the Thames from the London Eye to Waterloo Bridge, transforming it into a beautifully lit Christmassy promenade.
The market will bring a real German Christmas feeling to London's Southbank, selling a wide range of unique hand-crafted gifts and unusual Christmas presents. Wooden and soft toys, silver jewellery, handmade soaps, ceramics and many more products will be available - in a magical atmosphere for all ages.
A variety of traditional German food and drink will also be on sale for hungry shoppers. Sip a warming 'Gluhwein' (German Mulled Wine) whilst you browse the gift stalls, or enjoy a famous German Bratwurst sausage. Visitors can also indulge in many other delicious treats including roasted nuts, gingerbread hearts and warm crepes.
As well as shopping, there will also be a carousel within the Christmas Market ensuring the children are also entertained, along with traditional Christmas music to add a special touch of fun and cheer to fill everyone with the festive spirit!
