New Year's Eve Fireworks
Approx. 14 minutes from Russell Square Underground Station. Take the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus underground station. Change here for the Bakerloo line to Waterloo underground station.
Looking for a place to see in the New Year with family and friends, a brilliant atmosphere and spectacular fireworks? Then take a trip to the London Eye to catch the UK's biggest FREE firework display that will be taking place along the South Bank. With beautiful views of London's skyline and Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament as a backdrop, this is the perfect setting for a fantastic evening!
As the clock strikes twelve and the famous 'bongs' of Big Ben echo across the Thames, the extravaganza will begin and light up the sky in harmony with a tailor-made musical soundtrack. To keep the expected 250,000 strong crowd's spirits up in the December winter weather there will be live music from Radio DJ's - providing entertainment from 10pm through until midnight, and after the live show has finished as well.
Be sure to arrive early to get a good spot and avoid large moving crowds which may cause your journey time to take longer than expected. Public transport in London will be free from 11.45pm on New Year's Eve to 4.30am on New Year's Day. So for an impressive visual spectacle of colour and sound to mark the end of 2012, put on your hats and gloves and join the celebrations right in the heart of London!
