Restaurant Manager Sandesh Shrestha, proudly commented, “I am pleased to announce and share the good news that we have won the OpenTable Diner’s Choice Award for a second year in a row.” He shared shortly after welcoming Amrit Singh as the new Assistant Restaurant Manager, to the team.

Loved by thousands of diners, whether stopping by for a lunchtime bowl of biryani or a date-night dinner, Head Chef Yogesh’s mission for guests to eat well (for great value) rings true when browsing his affordably priced menu. “It’s a myth that you need to spend a lot of money to eat good food.”
Chef Yogesh shared earlier in January 2024.
Wafts of freshly-baked onion bhajis and lemony chicken korma are enough to tempt your tastebuds – but this much-loved Bloomsbury restaurant has a menu ranging from authentic street bites, Anglo-Indian fusion food, to soulfully spiced dishes such as Chef Yogesh’s “bestselling ruby butter chicken. We marinate tandoor chicken overnight and then it is sliced, cooked in a tomato sauce which is flavoured with cardamon and fenugreek leaves. Then finished with cream.”

An array of fine wines and chilled beers, including Flying Buffalo, complement any feast with family or friends. The team recommend sharing 4-5 dishes between two people for a chance to try different fusions and enjoy a social setting.
Unsure what to choose? Poppadom’s foodie team will gladly share their favourites from the menu – including many tasty vegan and vegetarian options. Crunchy vegan Gol guppas are perfect palette cleansers before mains, whereas the richer Tawa mushroom masala seasoned with green chillies certainly warms the heart on a rainy London evening.
Chef Yogesh loves feedback. “I do like to meet and greet diners whenever I can. And I’m always keen to hear their feedback. Feedback is what drives me to exceed guests’ expectations.” And the OpenTable reviews reflect Chef Yogesh’s efforts.

Visiting soon this summer? The Kashmiri boneless lamb is ultimate comfort food, prepared with saffron and chopped red chillies. As well as the Ajwaini salmon tikka starter – delicately charred to maintain flavour. Whether you prefer a table near the window or choose to be closer to the kitchen hubbub, the gentle modern Bollywood beats paired with French wine whilst you wait for your food, is a great way to unwind.
