1. Poppadom Indian Kitchen

Starting off strong Kicking things off with Poppadom Indian Kitchen at the Tavistock Hotel. Perfect if you're into bold and authentic Indian flavours. It’s the kind of place that smells so good that when you walk in, you know you're in for a treat.  The moment you step inside, the incredible aromas let you know you're in for something special. We stopped by on a chilly, cloudy afternoon, and it was exactly what we needed to warm us up!

Cuisine: Anglo Indian

Ambience: It’s cosy and casual, with aromas that make you want to try everything on the menu. We loved how it felt, both welcoming and unpretentious, perfect for a relaxed lunch.

Signature Dishes: The Chef recommended Red Ruby Butter Chicken, a creamy tomato and rich dish, with just the right amount of spice. Their Tawa Mushroom Masala is also a standout - earthy and warming after a day in the city. Oh, and definitely get the Garlic Naan—trust us, you’ll want something to scoop up every last bit of the curry!

What People Love About Our Poppadom Indian Kitchen:

“This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. There are plenty of great vegetarian and vegan options, and the menu is different from the run of the mill Indian restaurant. The service is excellent. The restaurant is in the hotel building and shares an entrance with the pub, but there is no sign, so it's not obvious where it is, but it's worth finding it.” - Robert Barnes from Google Reviews
