Role Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Undertake general painting and decorating maintenance and refurbishment work across the group (including staff accommodations)
  • Undertake general maintenance and refurbishment works using trade skills, including carpentry, plastering, and brickwork, across the group (including staff accommodations)
  • Undertake a range of internal/external painting and redecoration tasks in occupied and empty properties across the group (including staff accommodations)
  • Undertake preparation using hand-held power tools including scraping, sanding, sand-blasting, hydro-blasting, steam-cleaning; and “burning off” of loose paint
  • Undertake minor repairs to walls and joinery using the appropriate fillers/sealants
  • Undertake preparation to surfaces in readiness for application of decorative product(s)
  • Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture as necessary
  • Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment, following manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Comply with all Company and other Health & Safety requirements at all times

  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures

 

  • Other ad hoc duties in support of the Maintenance and Imperial London Hotel as and when required.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in general property maintenance
  • GCSE English/Maths Grade A - E (or equivalent)
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Basic carpentry, plastering, brickwork skills
