Platinum Jubilee Beacons
From 2nd June 2022

The United Kingdom has a long standing tradition of lighting beacons to celebrate special events such as Royal Weddings and Coronations. Over 1500 beacons will be lit to mark the Platinum Jubilee throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories. Don't miss the lighting on the Principle Beacon at Buckingham Palace to kick off the celebrations over the four day weekend, honouring her Majesty's 70 years of service.

Trooping the Colour
Thursday 2nd June 2022

This fantastic annual event is the official celebration of the Queen's Birthday and a highlight of the summer! The spectacular military parade features hundreds of officers, horses and musicians from the Household Division all dressed in ceremonial uniform as they march along the Mall to Horse Guards Parade. A wonderful opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Queen herself as she is escorted in a carriage from Buckingham Palace to inspect her troops. As she joins the rest of the Royal Family on the palace balcony, the Royal Air Force can be seen flying overhead leaving smoke trials of red, white and blue!

Platinum Jubilee Pageant
Sunday 5th June 2022

The Platinum Jubilee Pageant featuring over 5000 people from across the UK and Commonwealth will be taking place against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace. The pageant will combine theatre, circus, music, street arts and carnival, inviting children across the UK to play part of the 'River of Hope' procession which will see 200 silk flags being carried by children to emulate a moving river. The flags will feature pictures of the Primary and Secondary school children's aspirations for the plant over the next 70 years, in a specially choreographed show accompanied by music from 100 young players from London and Edinburgh.
