1. Visit the British Museum

Just a 10 minute walk from Euston, the British Museum is one of London’s greatest treasures, and better yet, it’s free! Explore ancient wonders like the Rosetta Stone, Egyptian mummies, and the Elgin Marbles.

This summer, check out the ‘Ancient India: Living Traditions’ exhibition (22 May - 19 October 2025), or take the kids on a family friendly trail to make learning fun during the holidays. With both free galleries and ticketed exhibitions, it’s accessible and inspiring for everyone.

2. Explore the Wellcome Collection

Right opposite Euston Station, the Wellcome Collection is a quirky blend of science, medicine, and art. Whether you’re curious about medical history or modern exhibitions exploring the human body and experience, there’s always something unexpected to see.

Make sure you visit the Reading Room, a peaceful space upstairs filled with books and comfy seating. There’s also a popular cafe on the ground floor which you can stop by during your visit. Just outside, look out for the blue plaque, commemorating poet T.S Elliot, who worked at the Wellcome Collection as an editor back in the 1920s.

3. Discover the British Library

Tucked between Euston and St. Pancras stations, the British Library is one of the largest libraries in the world. Completely free to enter, it is the home of works like the Magna Carta, Shakespeare’s First Folio, and the original Beatles lyrics. A must-see for book and history lovers.

Did you know? The Beatles used the President Hotel as their London base, when they came down from Liverpool, during the summer of 1963. They even had a famous pillow fight in room 444!
